Vintage Console is a project aimed at promoting, disseminating, training, information and preserving the videogames universe of the 70s, 80s and 90s.
For many of us those years were the years of our childhood, adolescence, growth.
Vintage Console aims to promote and preserve the stories and documentation of consoles and video games that made us (and still do) dream!
In this space there will be a way to explore the news related to the homebrew world.
The project born in 2019 from the passion of Emiliano, Dino and Luigi, passionate collectors and retrogamers, has materialized through the birth of a Facebook page, a Facebook Group and a dedicated Instagram profile. Through social networks the three friends have built up a significant network of contacts of national and international stature.

Thanks to the beautiful friendship born on social networks with Roberto and Alessandro from Dumpclub64, it was decided to start a structured collaboration also with the site, trying to offer something that goes beyond the Dump. This section will in fact be dedicated to reviews, articles, interviews and insights related to the magical world of the first generation consoles. We will talk about Atari, Intellivision, Console Wars but not only.
The goal is to develop a community of enthusiasts who will be able to tell their experiences and memories related to dear and old consoles! It will be a space open to all!
But what is retrogaming?
When a gamer plays or collects (sometimes even compulsively), videogames, consoles from the 70s and 80s we talk about retrogaming. Our community is made up of forty-year-old madmen who collect first, second, third generation consoles … etc.etc.
What do retrogamers do?
Usually the collection of a passionate retrogamer is made up of old video game systems now out of business: old video games are run on consoles of the time or on current computer systems, by means of emulators (software that reproduce the appropriate operating environment for play programs and games of the time) or porting (the source code of the games is rewritten and modified so that it can be run by modern operating systems).
The retrogames
In the community of retrogamers, some titles remain more popular than others. Particularly fashionable, for example, the videogamesof the 80s, which for many represented the first game love. The search, in some cases spasmodic and “compulsive” again, of old consoles such as the Atari 2600, the Intellivision Mattel, the Nintendo Entertainment System, the Sega Mega Drive and the Nintendo Game Boy, in excellent condition, should not be surprising. and still functional. These, among the many game consoles produced at the turn of the 80s and 90s, are the most appreciated and sought after: in case the search (markets, friends, cellars, ebay, etc.), should not provide the desired results, you opt for emulation (such as the Raspberry or FPGA systems).
Loving retrogames means looking for and trying the ones we missed. There are many games and consoles that we have never tried, forgotten goodies and wonderful games waiting to be used.
