Baccarini’s floppy – Una Storia di Cuore
Oggi vi voglio raccontare un storia, una storia di cuore fatta di passione, dedizione e interesse. Quindi cari appassionati, collezionisti, e nostalgici del retrogaming mettetevi comodi.
Mi chiamo Luca Baccarini e sono nato a Rovereto (TN) nel 1973.
All’età di 13 anni , dopo essere stato promosso all’esame di terza media, i miei genitori mi regalarono un Commodore 64 , con lui mi avvicinai al mondo dei videogiochi, un grande amore che fu però soppiantato poco a poco da un altro amore, ancora più grande … l’Amiga 500!
Iniziato quindi per gioco, questo hobby mi ha appassionato sempre di più, fino a diventare un lavoro in età adulta. Oltre ai videogiochi iniziai a collezionare anche tante utility, moduli del Sound Tracker e tantissime demo dei gruppi della scena Amiga più famosi.
Successivamente, dopo aver appreso i rudimenti dell’Assembler del 68000 e acquistato la mitica Action Replay, sono stato attivo per alcuni anni sulla scena Amiga Italiana e all’estero in qualità di cracker di videogiochi (nickname Bruce Lee).
Sono stati gli anni più belli ed emozionanti della mia adolescenza, in cui ho vissuto al massimo questa passione insieme a tanti altri amici con cui ho condiviso questa esperienza.
I ricordi restano scolpiti nella memoria ma non nei supporti magnetici.
Con un grandissimo lavoro in tutti questi anni ho catalogato e collezionato oltre 1.000 floppy, ma dopo oltre 30 anni il tempo non gioca a loro favore. L’umidità di una cantina non ha aiutato a salvaguardare il mio “patrimonio”, per questo motivo quando ho scoperto il progetto del DumpClub64 non ci ho pensato due volte e ho affidato a loro la mia intera collezione per preservarla.
Ho conosciuto Roberto Lanciotti, l’ideatore del DumpClub64 e Francesco Galluccio, amico e collaboratore del Dumpclub64, che ora sta facendo un ottimo lavoro.
Francesco sta effettuando il dump di tutto il mio archivio (in formato ADF) e sta tentando di “restaurare” anche quelli in parte danneggiati. Un lavoro che richiede tanta pazienza e che si può paragonare a quello di un archeologo che riporta alla luce antiche testimonianze che altrimenti rischierebbero di andare perdute. Quello che mettiamo online oggi è il risultato della prima sessione di dumping.
Non troverò mai le parole adatte per ringraziare Roberto e Francesco per questo grande progetto. Spero solo che una buona parte dei miei dischi sia ancora efficiente e che i “caduti sul campo” siano solo una piccola percentuale. Consiglio a tutti di seguire il mio esempio, se avete del materiale simile non lasciatelo a marcire o a prendere umidità e polvere in una cantina ma affidatelo al Dumpclub64, vale la pena tentare!!
